Today the California Supreme Court
set oral arguments in the Alameda County Deputy Sheriff’s Association
pending appeal, which is consolidated with several other employee
organizations, challenging the constitutionality of the Public Employee
Pension Reform Act (PEPRA) as it applied to certain plan members under
County Employees Retirement Law of 1937 (CERL).
Arguments will be heard on May 5, 2020, at 9:00 a.m. via video or teleconference. The case is captioned, Alameda County Deputy Sheriff’s Association v. Alameda County Employees’ Retirement Assn.
